That was my reaction when I woke up yesterday morning to the news that Barack Obama had retained his hold on the White House.
It’s fascinating to me how my own country (UK) and America differ despite our historic similarities. The UK is, on the whole, vastly more liberal than the US. I don’t know a single person that I think, were they American, would have even contemplated voting for Romney. Everyone is delighted and relieved that Obama won, as his policies and ideals are much closer to what we take for granted as being sensible and normal over here.
Donald Trump, a prominent Romney supporter, posted on his Twitter page “The world is laughing at us.” No, Donald. The world is enormously relieved.
we in the UK may not vote for Romney, but we voted in Cameron here, which probably amounts to the same level of stupidity! 😀
Sorry if this comment seems strange, and rather random, but I really love your blog, and what it stands for (i.e writing your thoughts, not according to a niche)
Keep writing!
Thanks very much, I really appreciate that!
Say what you like about Cameron but he’s nowhere near as right wing as Romney!
very true!
