A new meta-study has found that eating high levels of chocolate (which they define as two or more bars per week – which isn’t particularly high if you ask me) can help reduce your risk of developing coronary heart disease or having a stroke. Data from the study of almost 115,000 patients showed that it reduced the risk by about a third.
Of course, it’s too good to be true. We all know that chocolate is very fatty and sugary and thus can lead to weight gain, which causes numerous health problems. Excessive consumption of foods such as chocolate can also contribute to other illnesses such as diabetes.
As ever, the watchword is moderation. Just a shame that’s less fun.
