Water, Water Everywhere…

Wow. These floods are getting even crazier! First Queensland, then Brazil and Sri Lanka? Death, destruction and deluge all over the show. How can anyone say climate change is a myth with a straight face?

Although, there was a shot on the BBC News report on Brisbane of two young Aussie blokes floating around on surfboards – one of them even had a bottle of beer. Triumph of the Aussie spirit or what?

About elentari86

Apparently blogs need to cover a certain niche in order to attract readers. My aim is not to attract readers. I don't deny it would be nice not to just be spouting to myself, but the reason I set this blog up was to give myself somewhere to write down my thoughts. If anyone reads them, that's a bonus. This blog will cover a mix of things - anything that comes to mind that I want to write about. I make no promises about how often I will publish new content.

I’m sure youths here would float around on surfboards, too, if we had the temperatures to go with the flooding. The consequences are far worse for the third world countries than they are for Australia (or European countries).

Absolutely. In fact I was quite shocked to see flooding that serious and widespread in Australia because it almost always seems to be the poorer countries that bear the brunt of these things. I’m not used to seeing it happen in the developed world (by the way, that’s a very patronising term isn’t it? Maybe we should call it what it is and say ‘richer’ world).
